New Traditions in Easton, PA.

Updated: Mar 18

Four years of good times in Center Square.

So many people have told me that my ornaments are a Christmas tradition for their families and friends. People in the Lehigh Valley collect and exchange them, send them to loved ones across the US and abroad, use them as gift tags on wine bottles, or give them as little holiday gifts for coworkers, employees, teachers, and others.

I love to hear this because it's become a tradition for me too. I spend most of the work-year in my shop with machines and computers (which I love), but so I look forward to getting out, talking to people, seeing old friends, and making new ones.

One of my favorite times of the year is when I shift gears away from my normal projects to focus on my Winter Village build.

But these new traditions emerge from an old one: the Easton Peace Candle, which has stood from Thanksgiving through the New Year for more than 50 years now.

When I see the Easton Public Works crews assembling the Peace Candle in Center Square, that means I better wrap it up in the shop because my booth is just a day or two away from installation.

The Easton Winter Village is a young tradition for a city with deep roots, and I love being part of it.

When I'm making the artwork for my ornaments, I truly think about the people of Easton, our conversations from the previous year, and how to bring new style to longstanding traditions.
